Ace Hardware Local Bucket Days Display Contest Winners Announced
For the last five years, Corewell Health Children’s has held a local display contest for SE Michigan Ace Hardware stores in August, during the annual Ace Bucket Days. Stores that choose to participate in the contest by building fun displays and sending in photos can win bragging rights (and some sweet treats for winning teams, too). This local contest supplements the national contest that is sponsored by Ace Hardware vendors (Benjamin Moore, Minwax and Rust-oleum in 2024).
Not only do many of our SE Michigan Ace Hardware associates look forward to this fun tradition, but some start planning designs as early as April. It’s fun, it’s engaging and it helps bring attention to the annual Ace Hardware Bucket Days fundraiser, benefiting local kids at CMN Hospitals, as well as Ace Hardware customers who receive 20% off items that fit in special 5-gallon buckets!
CONGRATULATIONS to all of the stores that sent in photos of their displays for consideration. Many judges let me know how difficult it was to make decisions on winning displays!
Special Shout-outs to the following stores for receiving top votes:
- 1st place overall favorite: #18883 Great Lakes Ace Westland- Spirit of Detroit

We appreciate everything that Ace Hardware stores do to support kids at Corewell Health Children’s and love all the creativity associate show with their bucket displays. Children are our future. When we ensure they can lead healthy, fulfilling lives, we foster the scientists, inventors, artists, and leaders of tomorrow.
Thank you for making a difference in children’s healthcare- today and every day!
