Timmy Nelson’s Extra Life Game Day: A Heartfelt 24-Hour Marathon Supporting Local Children’s Health
On November 9, 2024, Timmy Nelson (first row: third from left) known in the gaming world as True Tim Foolery, hosted an incredible 24-hour Extra Life Game Day. This annual event raised funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Corewell Health Children’s, with all donations benefiting pediatric oncology, the Proton Therapy Center, and the Child Life Program.
Surrounded by his family, friends, and a community of loyal followers, Timmy’s marathon gaming session was filled with laughter, energy, and generosity. One of the special moments during the event was an appearance by a local Miracle Child, Mila Sikes (first row: fourth from left) whose inspiring story shares the importance of the programs Timmy was supporting. The presence of a Child Life Specialist, Karolina Jones (second row, third from left) who treated Mila, further reinforced the impact that donations play in treating local kids. Karolina demonstrates compassion, empathy, patience, and trust that every child needs when dealing with unfamiliar services and procedures within the hospital. This is a vital part of our Child Life Program at Corewell Health Children’s.
Thanks to the dedication of Timmy and the generous community, the event raised an impressive $16,450 to support these vital programs and centers. Timmy’s commitment to this cause has made a real difference in the lives of local families.
Thank you, Timmy, for your unwavering support. Your hard work and the generosity of everyone who contributed are deeply appreciated. Together we can change kids’ health and change the future.
