RE/MAX Rocks Radiothon

On Thursday, November 19, CMN at Beaumont Children’s hosted their third annual 104.3 WOMC Turn Up the Miracles Radiothon. While the virtual event included interviews with Miracle Families, a featured pediatric department for every hour and generous donations from CMN partners, RE/MAX of Southeastern Michigan and RE/MAX First Agent Candice Thompson took it to the next level.

Since RE/MAX agents weren’t able to volunteer in person this year, they were challenged to compete against each other to see who could raise the most online. Throughout the week of Radiothon, agents asked clients, family members and friends to donate….and the total started to climb. Each day the donations increased more and more, and what was expected to be a small fundraiser soon turned into over $25,000 raised for the RE/MAX Communication Preschool at Beaumont Children’s, which RE/MAX of Southeastern Michigan directly supports. Agent Candice Thompson of RE/MAX First personally raised over $7,000!

Candice’s commitment to helping kids is connected to her own personal story. After being told she would never be able to have children, Candice and her husband welcomed their miracle baby Jack into the world. When he was first born, Jack was whisked off to the NICU, and Candice and her husband weren’t able to see or hold him. “After I laid eyes on him and held him for the first time, I realized some parents have to wait days or weeks for that moment and some never get that moment at all”, says Candice. It was then that her dedication to giving back went into full swing. “I knew I wanted to help children, I just wasn’t exactly sure how”.

When Candice started with RE/MAX and learned about the partnership with CMN, she was instantly inspired to help. Candice has now become an Ambassador for CMN and Beaumont Children’s and helps her fellow agents understand the impact they can make. And she knows that helping pediatric patients this year has become even more vital. “Children’s need for care doesn’t stop, even in a worldwide pandemic. In trying times like these, kids need us even more as many parents are laid off or have lost their jobs completely” she says.

Thanks to the dedication of amazing CMN champions like Candice and partners like RE/MAX of Southeastern Michigan, pediatric patients at Beaumont Children’s are able to receive the care they need, no matter the circumstance.
